Can't setup static routes

I recently got a new CR1000a router after a power surge destroyed my old one. I used to have static routes setup on the old router, and when trying to set them up the same way on the new one they always immediately say "Failed". I'm trying to set a static route for 192.168.2.0/24 via 192.168.1.2 while my verizon router uses 192.168.1.0/24 and is 192.168.1.1. The new router is running 3.6.0.2_BD.
