I'm trying to find the IPs of the verizon DNS servers and they're not on the site, the faq, or the email help. Does anyone know what they are?
Thanks

AT least in my part of the world (Pittsburgh) they are 71.252.0.12 and 71.250.0.12
However I don't know why you would want that information, to be polite, there are other DNS's that are better choices.
Even some of the Verizon Techs who visit this forum will suggest you use OpenDNS for DNS service.
Just go to www.opendns.com and the web site will provide the IP addresses, and it is free.

There are posts saying that Verison's DNS servers are better than Google and opendns, speed wise. I have multiple dns servers in my settings (which is a best practice) and would like to have the ones 'closest to home' above the global ones.
The email that I got from asking Verizon directly was an canned response sending me to the email settings page and when I said it wasn't right, they "hope that they provided the proper information" with links that fail to answer the question.

verizon has dns servers for nearly every state or region at least, I am not sure how they set up their footprint but they have a TON of servers.
the old genuity ip's are fun to use,
4.2.2.1
4.2.2.2
4.2.2.3
4.4.4.4
4.4.4.5
and then VZ has new level 3 dns servers and nearly a different dns in each state or region, so it depends on where you live. if you tell me the state i could probably find out
google has some new ones
8.8.8.8
and 8.8.4.4
and open dns has some really good ones too that have value added services that come with theirs.

You are welcome 🙂
While the list does not list all of them, that is the longest list that I have ever seen.
