DSL Gateway Reboots Every Day

Everyday for the past several weeks I've noticed that, all of a sudden, I lose internet service. Looking at my Actiontec Gateway when this happens it looks fine, all green lights. Then a few seconds later the Internet light goes out and so does the DSL light. The Power light stays green though. Then the DSL light starts to flash then turns solid and then the Internet comes on any I'm back online. This event happens every time I'm on my PC which is everyday. Why is this happening?

So no discussions on this? This still happens daily. I lose sync and then it comes back. Any thoughts?

What router are you running? The GT784WNV? Additionally, is your modem's phone cable running through a surge protector? Is the router crashing during a specific time during the system startup? Finally, wired or wireless?

Router: Actiontec GT784WNV

No surge protector.

Not happening during system startup. Happens while already online for about anywhere from 20-90 minutes.

Wired.

And just happened while posting this reply.

Thanks for confirming.

Please log into the ActionTec at http://192.168.1.1/. The default username and password is admin/password, and if it's still set to this, you may be asked to change the login. If you've already changed the login, or if it's written on the side of the router, please log in with the updated information instead.

Once logged in, click on Status, then click on DSL Status. You should receive a page containing information like speed, attenuation, SN Margin, and more. Please post the contents of this page, and be sure to remove any information from this page like an IP Address or a Username.

Thank you. Those statistics look to be fine, so it may not be a line problem.

If you can, try to get a copy of the Status > Gateway Utilization page before and after the modem cycles/reboots.

Looks like the RAM on your router may be filling up. When it fills up, the router crashes and reboots on it's own. I had a similar problem with the GT784WNV when Verizon sent one to me, and took it out of service because it could crash daily.

To be sure, do you have another router on the network? Do you happen to have anyone running Peer to Peer / File Sharing software on the network?
