Download speeds on Wifi - low

I should be getting 50Mbps download, but only get under 5Mbps from the verizon speed tests.  Upload seems close to 50 and sometimes way over 50.

So is 50Mbps guaranteed only with the direct ethernet connection?

How can i get my Lenovo Yoga laptop downloading at 50Mbps with the wifi connection?? i dont want to be wired all the time. why do i only get 5Mbps down.

Yes, no provider will guarantee WiFi performance.

If you have an android device, download an app called WiFi analyzer.

It will tell you the optimal channel to use.

Otherwise, try changing channel around to see if it improves.
