FIOS Extender randomly loses internet connection

Ever since we installed the 3200 extender, in the room where the extender resides (and the devices are connected to it), internet intermittently disconnects. Both from wifi and cable connected.

Light on the extender remains the same throughout but internet is lost. Its random for between 2-5 minutes. And every hour to 2 hours.

I have replaced the router and the same thing happens. Tried 2 different extenders and same problem exists.

Called Verizon 4-5 times and always get the run around. Very frustrating.

Please help urgently as I've seen others have the same problem.

Fios Extender Model Name E3200

Firmware Version 3.2.0.10

Thanks

How are you backhauling your E3200 to the router?

Not sure what backhauling is however the extender is connected via CoAux in the house.  I've also tried laptops connected through a hard wire (rj45) and wifi - still randomly disconnects. Any help would be appreciated.

I recently just switched from Xfinity to Verizon, looking for that sweet upload speed. I am having the same issue, where the internet randomly disconnects. Were you able to find a working solution? My extender lights yellow every 2 - 5 min and the internet (wired and wireless) disconnects every hour or two.

Sadly I am still having the same issues. Just deal with it by turning off the extender and forcing the laptop to connect to the main router with a weaker connection. then an hour or so later restarting the extender.

Any advice would be welcome

I am having same exact issue. I just add one of the Verizon Technicians come over the house to show this exact problem. He mentioned he will report.

My personal thoughts is that is a firmware problem on the main router. My main Router is at 3.2.0.15;  my extender is at 3.2.0.12.

Anyways, after he reports it, I will see if the case is updated and someone from Verizon with software experience reach me to find out a little more.

Please let me know if you find out anything in your end

Same issue, in a building with router hardwired on the ground floor and extender in my apartment. Solid yellow when it stops working every 1-2 hours then unplug and wait 5-10 mins for it to reconnect once plugged back in. Have a computer science degree, Verizon support not helping and donโ€™t see how sending someone out for $100 would help either. Close to canceling unfortunately since like Fios tv itself which works fine. Should be able to fix remotely rather than have customers provide their own technical support. Canโ€™t imagine how lame it is for elder folks.

What is the backhaul mode? Do you use Coax to connect the extender to the router?

The router is connected to Verizon kit in the ground floor electrical room. Weโ€™re four floors up with the extender in the apartment connected via coax with a splitter also connecting to the set-top box. Other apartments seem to have older kit. We used to just have a router in our apartment but were told to upgrade when we started getting outages a couple of months ago after several years with no problems at all. Tried rebooting, different WiFi bands,, turning on/off up v6 etc but no joy.

Installed my router/extender combination in July and have experienced the E3200 losing internet connectivity (LED light on the front turns yellow) randomly every few days.  Itโ€™s using a coax backhaul connection.  When it goes down, I have to power cycle not only it, but the FiOS TV + box that connects to it or the quality of my cable signal deteriorates so badly that itโ€™s unwatchable. Have had multiple chat sessions with Verizon tech support.  Theyโ€™ve remotely rebooted my ONT, remotely restarted the router and the extender, but the problem keeps happening.  Previously, I had a pair Orbis connected to an ancient Verizon router for three-plus years and never lost connectivity once. I have no clue whatโ€™s going on, but itโ€™s very frustrating for this long-time FiOS customer.
