Fios Extender connection issue

The Fios wifi Extender that I was sent will not pair with my current router wirelessly.  I was sent an extender after having issues with certain spots in my house with wifi signal.  The instructions show how to pair the extender wirelessly however after I go thru the process the extender light is solid yellow and will not pair/connect.  I have tried calling verizon 3 days in a row and have been on hold for over an hour with no one answering.  I need to know if this will set up wirelessly if not it is a waste of my time and I want an extender that will connect.

Hey, I went thru a similar exercise with the Wifi extender that I received from Fios. Turns out, it doesn't work wirelessly. You have to have it hardwired into the main router via LAN or Coaxial cable. I discover this when scouring Reddit for a solution (Verizon was no help.) I don't recall the make of the Extender I have, but it looks almost exactly like the main Wifi Router.

You didn't mention which router and extender you're talking about, but what you might try is to pair them using a wired connection with the extender next to the router. Then move it to your intended location and see if it works. Some extenders prefer/require a coax connection between the router and extender (and some don't).
