Fios Gigabit with TV - extender vs mesh recommendation

Hi all,
I have Verizon Fios Gigabit and TV. Had used Google Wifi mesh but didn't like the modest compromise in TV functionality. I want to unclutter my situation and start over.
With the Fios router (the newest one, obtained a couple months ago, sorry I don't have the model name readily available), I have one Fios extender as well. I still have areas of lower signal (3 story home including basement).
To improve coverage in my home, should I just get more extenders? Or should I look into another mesh system?
I am looking to optimize wifi coverage obviously but not lose any Fios TV functionality.
I am not sure I want to do Google again. Have heard good things about TP-Link but mostly from people with internet only.
Any thoughts would be welcome.

Do you have Coax around the house?
There is no official mesh system. At best, a Verizon router with multiple extenders would act as multiple access points, which is common in commercial settings, but is not correct to call such a system a "mesh system."
