HOW TO GET DSL CUSTOMER SERVICE

I have placed over 25 calls over a period of a month to Verizon for an order to move my DSL internet.  I am concerned over the customer support.  i have been told conflicting statements... i.e. that technicians do not work in my area on Friday's, told that Verizon has 24/7 service.  Has anyone else experienced this with customer service or an order they have placed?  Verizon has always been so good to my family in the past.  i do not understand how a simple move ticket can be so complicated.
