Hi,
Ex-network engineer here. There is a routing issue from my house in Maryland to 205.222.9.101. This is the IP address for a school website "classroom.mcpsmd.org". For some reason the traffic goes from VZ to "bad.comcast.net" and then dies after 30 hops.

2 3 ms 2 ms 2 ms 192.168.1.1

11 11 ms 10 ms 10 ms 50.231.70.106
12 * * * Request timed out.

30 * * * Request timed out.
Trace complete.
After a few minutes the issue resolves itself dynamically and the goes a different route. This happens every day.
***This is the correct route***

Is there a way to report this to Advanced Networking Support or equivalent?

@dexman can you or any of your fellow Fios gurus understand what they are referring to?
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

This issue would be best addressed by one of the Internet leads. Lucas might know how to proceed. 🙂

Thanks for responding, this is VZ Fios. Without being able to troubleshoot it looks like a bad route is coming in through the Comcast backbone via BGP.

I've moved this topic to the Fios board for better visibility. Thank you!

Since you are an ex-Network Engineer, so I will turn up the level of discourse.
Did you confirm whether the destination prefix is advertised to AS 701 through the BGP watch glass?
