How do you access a bridged router?

We are using the default Verizon router, but we are also using a bridged Netgear router.  How do you access the bridged router's settings?  When I go to our ip address it just sends me to the Verizon router's settings everytime.

Thanks in advance.

What IP address did you assign the Netgear?

What's the default gateway of a machine connected to the Netgear?

Assuming you kept the default settings of the Actiontec router you are probably going to 192.168.1.1 to access the router.

In order to access the Netgear router you must provide an address for it on the LAN side (since you are bridging it) or set it up to receive a DHCP address on the LAN side.  Most routers will do DHCP on the WAN side but on the LAN side you must set the address manually.

If you are not sure what address is configured on the netgear you may want to disconnect the netgear from the actiontec, plug a PC into it and see if you get a DHCP address from the net gear or configure a PC/Laptop to be on the same network as the netgear.  Once you access the netgear and if it does not have an address on 192.168.1.x then you would want to configure an IP address on it within the range of 192.168.1.2-254.  Keep in mind do not use 192.168.1.1 or the range of 192.168.100-105.  If you have Fios TV the set top boxes use the 100-105 range (depending on the # of boxes you have).

If the Actiontec is giving out DHCP then make sure you disable DHCP on the netgear otherwise you can screw things up.

Once the netgear has an IP address on the same network as the rest of the PCs and the actiontec you can then http into your netgear.
