Hi,
Since last 10 days or so, I have been having major service issues. The internet goes down completely. When I call Verizon, their automated system is unable to fix the issue by issuing a reset.
When the service first went down, I was able to talk to an agent and he showed me how to reset the ONT by pressing a reset button by the side of the ONT power supply. Now every time internet goes down, I reset the ONT by keeping the reset button pressed for about 15 seconds and then letting it go. Then internet starts working within 5 minutes. Verizon's automated system is unable to reset the ONT remotely.
In the last 10 days, I have had to reset the ONT 3 times. Since this is no longer an isolated incident, I am trying to figure out how to get either the data port on ONT replaced or the entire ONT replaced.
Trying to contact a live tech support person at Verizon is an exercise in frustration as their is no easy option to contact someone when my internet is working. I am hoping that some forum moderator sees my post and guides me to an easy way to get the ONT fixed.
I have had FiOS service from Verizon for several years now but this is first time I am facing a prolonged service issue. I only have internet service. No phone, no TV, nothing else.
Thanks
