Verizon just updated me from copper to fiber optic (which I really didn't want to do, but that is another story) and the new Fios Quantum Gateway modem/router doesn't appear to have any form of power switch. Also, the WiFi signal is always on.
With my DSL modem, I could power it off, and also shut off the WiFi, which made me feel a bit more secure. I also didn't have to worry about keeping it cool when the computer was off (I have a USB-powered fan over it to keep it cool).
Am I correct in saying this new device can't be powered down? Can I somehow disconnect via Windows or something. I haven't messed around with settings yet as I don't want to totally goof things up.
I miss my POWER button and ability to shut off WiFi......................... ๐

No there is no switch. Just take the plug out of the back.
