Ah ha a question to ponder. At one time there was a service that worked through the tv. I think it was made by Microsoft. It was called WebTv

WebTV was long abandoned 😞
What a lot of people do, including myself, is we attach a computer, usually an older spare or a lower power, smaller form factor system like an Intel NUC, up to a TV. Many systems have HDMI, so the connection is literally plug and play. Then, we'll use a wireless keyboard and mouse like the Logitech Harmony Keyboard+Trackpad and a Bluetooth adapter to use the PC from the couch. We'll often set the PC up not only for web browsing, but for streaming so it can become a replacement for traditional TV service.

Ha ha there is also a device that attaches to the tv like the device made by Happauge http://www.hauppauge.com
they had a decent product and are still in business.
i had in the past used a large screen tv as my computers monitor. In fact I had multiple screens open and used my computer via the hookup to use my mouse and keyboard. But where there is a will there is a way.
