Moved to new house - Fios lines run through a window?

Hi Verizon Community
A Fios tech will be visiting my new house in a few days to install Fios. There is some existing Fios equiment at the house. From the Verizon box on the exterior of the house, lines were run to the interior of the cellar through a basement window. This would explain the water stains down the inside of the basement wall.
When the tech comes out to do the install for new service in my name, will the tech correct this issue and drill a hole through the wall to run the lines? We are getting new basement windows, and there's no way to replace the window without having to cut the verizon lines. Plus, it's pretty obvious that water has been leaking into the basement because the verizon lines were improperly installed (who knows how many years ago - this is an older house which is new to me). The window is not able to be closed properly.
It's my understanding that service lines should be run through a hole drilled through the wall (as the old verizon land line hookup was installed at my old property).
Just looking for a little reassurance that the tech will correct this problem. Hoping all will be fine.

It sounds like standard practice to drill a hole on the siding to fish the fiber through. I believe the Technician do carry fiber termination tools to make a new connector after the cutting.
So yes, you can kindly ask the technician to do that.
