Hi- Have Fios Router 3100 - I have an app I’d like to connect to that only accepts 2.4GHZ . Won’t this 3100 automatically switch over?

I'm not sure what you mean when you say you have an "app" that accepts only 2.4 GHz. Do you mean a device that only works in the 2.4 GHz wireless range? Assuming that's what you meant, then yes, the G3100 should let both 2.4 and 5 GHz devices connect simultaneously. Where I have run into trouble is if the 2.4 GHz device supports only 802.11b or 802.11g. Some routers just don't work with those. 802.11n doesn't seem to be a problem though.
If you haven't done so already, log in to the router and go to the Wi-Fi --> Basic Settings page. Make sure that the 2.4 GHz radio is turned on. Then go to the Advanced Settings and make sure SSID Broadcast is enabled for the 2.4 GHz band.
If you don't have the G3100 User Guide handy, grab a copy from Verizon. It goes into detail about what some of the advanced settings do.
