I guess this is more of a PSA than a question as I doubt I'll get much help from Verizon on the forums. Community members, if you have any suggestions then I'm all ears and appreciate your input.
I purchased a new construction home and moved in March 2023. The entire development is scheduled for FIOS. In fact, two to three blocks over houses are already equipped with it. We have a FIOS service box in the ground in the front yard 30-50 ft from the house. It looks like cabling has been ran for it. I've been trying to get a Verizon tech to install the ONT and put our house on the grid since I moved in. I had a ticket submitted and they said it's sitting with an engineer and will let me know when it's available.
I'm frustrated as I work full time remote in healthcare and need stable internet. They told me by end of April it would be available. Then May. Then June (you get the idea). Our neighbors next door are using Verizon LTE to limp by and I was told it wasn't an option as the tower is oversaturated with too much bandwidth. I had to go with a T-Mobile 5G router as there was literally no other options in this area.
I moved specifically to this new development for FIOS. Just wondering if anyone has had any luck getting their house on the grid or any tricks to move the process a long? I'm honestly just trying to get a realistic timeline instead of "You'll have it by the end of the month! Just kidding!"
I've been a Verizon customer for 20+ years and support has not been friendly on the matter at all. The last person I spoke to said "Sorry it's a hard no. It's not available for you there." Which is funny when I know it will be available and the infrastructure for it is already ran.
Any who, I appreciate any help or insight from the community. Verizon, if you see this please toss a loyal customer a bone and give me a realistic update 😅. Thanks.
