Have a new install set up for next week (internet & TV) and I am just trying to get a handle on what to expect and if I will be able to continue to use my existing network.
The ONT will (I assume) be installed in the basement, quite far from where my cable modem and mesh router currently reside (my office).
I am assuming the ONT will connect to the existing coax wiring. Can I then place a MoCa adapter in my office, connect it to the existing coax that currently goes to my cable modem, and then connect the Verizon router to that via ethernet?
Would I then be able to connect my mesh router to the Verizon router, perhaps disabling the Verizon wifi? Can I cut the Verizon router out of the equation entirely?
Please let me know if I am way off on all this. Hoping to make this changeover as painless as possible but I don't quite have a handle on all of the variables at this point.
