really want to know the best way to ground the ont and the coax. outside the house.
is it ok to send wire from the ont to the coax ground then to ground rod fron electrical panel or do i have to send two seperate grounds down to rod. one for the ont and one for coAX

Verizon should have provided a ground connection to the ONT. But I would say keep them seperate, even though they all connect to the ONT through the coax shield.

I totally agree, I did a lot of research on this recently. http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r28163881-FIOS-ONT-ground-wire-replacement I also had a whole house ground installed in my circut breaker box.

Can the ONT unit be installed outside? What is the length of the power cord on the ONT Power Supply Unit that plugs into the 120V outlet?

Yes the ONT can be (mine is ) installed outside. The cord is about 8 feet long
