I currently bought a new home which is under 1 mile from where Verizon service ends. There is poles readily accessible to easily extend the lines. Doing this would add over 100 homes to the service area. My new home is in the same township and Municipality where Verizon already has service. There are side roads that have Verizon service going further up than the main road lines run. The only other option currently is DSL. What would it take to get Verizon to run new Fiber lines further up the main road. I have been a Verizon Fios member for awhile now and would hate to have to downgrade to DSL. Another note is that the area is not rural so I am not sure why Verizon stopped the lines instead of continuing up the main road.
