Originally had the router model G3100 with a Wi-Fi extender. Upgraded to the new CR1000a and my wife speeds were only hitting 50mbps download/5 Mbps upload. Tech only swapped the router, plugged into old extender with coax and ONT with a cat5e Ethernet. Hardlined speed wouldn’t go past 100download/ 25 upload.
had a 2nd tech come out 2 days after, swapped with another new router, relocated and got a new ONT with all new wires. I hardlined into ps4 and speeds hit 90mbps download/5 Mbps upload. Connecting with Wi-Fi even worse. WiFi speed test failed with the tech, but the router test speed says 900/800.
Customer service does same thing, runs speed tests , tells me they see no issues everything is where it should be. I checked router and the tech had plugged the Ethernet I use to hardline into lan1 port. I got a new 6catA Ethernet, plugged into the 10geLAN port, my Mbps while hardlined cap at 450mbps download/25 upload and was told that’s normal, but I received better Wi-Fi service with the older router, didn’t even need to hardline ever.
did some research, but nothing conclusive, could the new router be failing because of extender? Maybe hardware outside needs to be changed also? Wishing I learned about this bug before agreeing to a new router. Has anyone seen a resolution like changing network settings?
