I have a Fios Quantum Gateway router and extender. When I use the Self-Operating Network (SON), the printer will not connect. It will connect to the guest network but that does not help me very much.
Is there anyway I can exclude the printer (HP Photosmart 7520) from SON so that it connects but still be able to use SON for my home network?

If you want to disable SON on your printer, looks like you are asking questions at the wrong place. It is recommend to turn off all the SON features since they do more harm than good.
Why do you need SON for?
