One e-mail from Verizon states I could upgrade to amazing speeds by purchasing a new router. Another e-mail says I coud upgrade to 75 mbps by paying $10 a month for 6 months....not mentioned what happens at the end of those 6 months.
So my question is.....if they can upgrade by me paying $10....why can't they upgrade without me purchasing a new router???

It’s called conducting business.
you don’t need a Verizon router to have high speed services. However if you have phone and tv I believe you would need verizons router to have all services.
now speeds above 100/100 are done via ethernet as a rule but I believe speed over coaxial (MOCA) is possible.
