"re-routing" needed by verizon agents won't address it

So I'm having an issue where an online game, League of Legends, crashes when loading into a game.  In working with the LoL support their diagnostic logs and triaging information comes to the conclusion that there is a routing error between their gaming serving and the hop just before it.  A "ping plotter" output does indeed show an 11% packet loss at that location.  They advised contacting my ISP and request a "re-routing" to go around this problem spot.

The issue is that the verizon agents won't even acknowledge this when I bring it up.  They won't look at any of the information from the gaming support and ask me for no information about the server and routing issue in question.  All they do is reset my router, do a speed test of my router out to the internet, and then release and require an IP.  After that they assert I need a gigabit connection to play online games and to update my router I have from them.  Online games can be easily played with 25 to 50mbps, I currently have a 300 up and down plan,  but they insist my issue is one of speed of my home connection.

I have no issue with verizon disagreeing with the game support's opinion but they haven't even looked at any of the existing information to be able to disagree with it.  Why is verizon so hesitant to look at the information and who's suggestion seems more likely to be the issue?  Keep in mind everything else I do on the internet works fine to include every other online game I play.
