Signed up online early Janurary 2013 for FIOS service for my home.
Verizon told me that I would receive a $300 Visa Gift Card with a 24mo
agreement. Completely forgot about that and since we never received
anything went to check on it in April 2013. First I was unable to get a
hold of anyone, online chat unavailable, then good luck trying to find a
support phone #. Finally got on the phone with a rep and she tells me
that I should wait 1 year to get it. Today Jan 6 2014, I called and was
told that there is no such a thing as $300 gift card on my account. I
couldn't believe that she was lying to my face!!
Go back on chat a few minutes ago to talk to another agent about this,
and sure thing he confirms the same thing: no gift card was promised to
you and do you have the name of the agent you spoke with:
VERIZON: YES I SPEND MY TIME CHATTING WITH YOUR AGENTS AND WRITING DOWN
THEIR NAMES BECAUSE I FIGURE YOU ARE GOING TO LIE TO ME AND SCREW ME.
REALLY???
Basically it's clear and simple after doing a search for his on the
Internet:
This is an ongoing SCAM. Verizon and LYING and CHEATING to get people to
sign up then gives them THE SHAFT!!!
Of course try to cancel your service and they will charge you $250 to
disconnect the service.
This is worst than bank robbery, the greed from these stupid companies
like Verizon has to be stopped. I will go to BBB now and report this
scam, but I highly doubt anything will happen out of it. Everyone in the
US should boycott their service and hope that companies like Verizon go
under and learn their lesson (I know it's called Utopia).
We spend $80/mo for our FIOS home service which equates to $960 a year
spent with Verizon. How do they thank us for the business? BY GIVING US
THE SHAFT!!!!!
I will gladly take our business elsewhere to their competitor.
PEOPLE DO NOT SIGN UP WITH VERIZON!!!

Hi jackkyxu,
Your issue has been escalated to a Verizon agent. Before the agent can begin assisting you, they will need to collect further information from you. Please go to your profile page for the forum and look at the top of the middle column where you will find an area titled "My Support Cases". You can reach your profile page by clicking on your name beside your post, or at the top left of this page underneath the title of the board.
Under "My Support Cases" you will find a link to the private board where you and the agent may exchange information. This should be checked on a frequent basis, as the agent may be waiting for information from you before they can proceed with any actions. To ensure you know when they have responded to you, at the top of your support case there is a drop down menu for support case options. Open that and choose "subscribe". Please keep all correspondence regarding your issue in the private support portal.

We have closed your private support case out. Feel free to make a new post anytime you need our help. We're glad we are able to clarify the issues with the gift card.
