Just wondering if there is any way to change the background colors for the guide menu. My old Motorola box had a blue background. Not crazy about the black and grey.

As I posted above, you don't have many choices. Look here and see if any changes help:
Main Menu > Guide > Settings>Guide Video View.

i think you can do is change it to transparent. Look here:
