HBOMax Question

I have been trying to sign into HBOMax through my Smart TV and/or a streaming device using my Fios account because I already have HBO through Fios. I haven't been able to figure out how to do it and am hoping someone here can help, as it's my understanding I'm able to get HBOMax as a current HBO subscriber. I've gotten as far as entering the code on the HBOMax sign in screen on my computer. The next step is supposed to be entering my Fios email and password but I cannot find anywhere to do that. The next screen is a page listing HBO providers that doesn't include Fios. The next page displays a lot of confusing instructions. The only thing thing that makes sense to click on from that page is "my provider isn't listed." When I click on that it seems to take me in a dizzying circle of follow-up pages and choices that keeps bringing me around and around but never to anyplace where I can enter the Fios credentials, at least as far as I can see. (The only list I found Fios on was not a hyperlink.) I'm not generally bad as this sort of thing and I've tried several times. I also tried contacting HBOMax without any success. I didn't bother trying Verizon as that seemed pointless.
Can anyone here help me figure out how to accomplish what should be a simple task of signing up for HBOMax? I would very much appreciate the assistance. Thanks.

Usually you get a find your provider screen first when you open the HBOMax app. It sends a code to your e-mail, which you enter after you choose the provider. I'd start by removing the HBOmax app from your TV, deleting any cache or user info from the app, then re-downloading and re-installing the app. Once you launch the app, it should ask for your provider, Then authenticate the code it sends.

Thanks very much for your reply. That's not how it's working on either my smart tv or my firestick. There is no option on the tv screen to pick your provider and the code is on the tv, not sent in an email. The only thing it does on the tv is give a code, which has to be entered on another device, like a computer, phone or tablet. Then from there it sends you to another page, still on the computer device, to pick your provider (which is where I can't find Fios). I only just newly installed the HBOMax app yesterday so I'm not sure that deleting and reinstalling it would change this but I can try. Maybe they've changed the procedure since you did it?

I was thinking of another app, sorry. You are correct. The way the app presented itself is the correct order of things except you should be able to see Verizon or Fios as your provider. Are you saying you didn't see either? It may also be listed under a regional name like Frontier or what ever the regional provider is. I'd still wipe the app and try again, can't hurt. Also try a different device, maybe try a phone or another tablet if you have one.
