Keep TV on while turning off box

I was not home during set up but my remote controls both the TV (Vizio) and the box. I like that it controls my TV for volume control but I also have a PlayStation that I switch to. I'd like a way to turn off the STB without turning off my TV but it doesn't seem like it's possible. Any ideas?

Don't turn off anything.  Use the 'Input' button on the remote and  switch the TV input to the Xbox connection.
