NASA TV

I'm going to be submitting info regarding the NASA TV channel and see if we can get it.  I don't think it will be difficult to get.  Here is what I need from everyone here.

1. First Last name and State your service is in.

2. Phone # to pull up account if # 1 won't work.

3. Address if 1 and 2 don't work.

I have to create some tickets to have the gain interest on that channel.

Please Please Provide the above info in a PRIVATE MESSAGE to me do not post your info here in this thread please.

Just added my PM. Please add for Philly VHO8. I've been asking everytime I call in for support. Unfortunately, they don't know how to do the request. Maybe it's the wrong department.

I sent my info.  Hopefully you will be able to get enough people to show that there is some real interest in having NASA added.

They should put it on

NASA channel is a FREE channel, so all it would cost them is bandwith

If need be, replace cspan3  🙂

It should be a "no brainer" that Verizon include this channel.  I think that despite years of internet discussion about it Verizon still has not heard us.

Yesterday I called the best number I could find to request it - Customer Service.  The rep said they had no way to document the request and offered to transfer me to Tech Support.  I waited on hold for 20 min before I had to hang up.

Thanks to the Techman for his interest and effort to get this done.

I doubt it'd be free to Verizon, we'd have to write a pretty big check to NASA , but i bet it'd still be free to you!

Hope we can get it, TechMan, count my Vote!

The NASA TV Public and Educational channels are "free-to-air," meaning your cable or satellite service provider can carry them at no cost. Contact your local cable or satellite service provider about carrying NASA TV.

NASA TV's Public, Education and Media channels are available on an MPEG-2 digital C-band signal via satellite on AMC 6, Transponder 17C in continental North America. In Alaska and Hawaii, they're available on AMC 7, Transponder 18C. Analog NASA TV is no longer available.

Also I the NASA TV site has the info to view in HD so we shall see.

Yeah, then we could have saw today's satellite fall in the water. What a waste. 9 years and $280 million dollars and it fell 3 minutes after take off. Good thing no one was aboard. They still can't get it right after all these years.

Techman28,

I sent you a private message with requested info.  I’m not sure what you mean by “create some tickets”.  Have you found some mechanism by which to gain Verizon’s attention?  I have tried calling them and was told that there is no way to submit comments or suggestions.  Maybe they read their forums?  That would be cool.

I switched from Dish last year thinking Verizon would soon add NASA TV.  They are new to this TV stuff.

I really miss this channel.  I may have to turn Dish back on for a month to see STS-125.  Aghhh!

Thanks for your efforts,
goldfinger

My wife does pay DTV $20 a month for one channel from Peru. SurPeru DTV exclusive. I would rather go from 20/5 to 20/20 for the extra $20. Rather bites. Getting a little off topic with the Peru stuff. Shame the new launch didn't take out one DTV sat. Smiley Sad

@goldfinger, I'm pretty sure techman already works for Verizon.  What he's saying is that he'll create internal request tickets and present them to management.

Most definitely Techman28 works for Verizon. He does an excellent job helping users get stubborn problems fixed, he went above and beyond to help me several months ago with an issue.

Techman28, are you still looking for info from folks who want NASA TV?

It's the one channel we regret losing when we moved off Dish.  Would be great to get it back, and truly awesome if we could get it HD.
