Outage in Northern VA ?

The storm last night must have done some damage. I am not getting many programs on FIOS as well as the phone line is down. My cell phone does not have any bars as well. Good thing the FIOS internet is working. Anyone else experiencing these problems?

Wow many posts on this thread, good to see all the help. The main issue is the power outages of Central Offices in the area. This is why some phones work and others have dial tone but get fast busys. Dominion is working on these issues. I do wish we get more updates from VZ to let us know what is going on and staus updates.
I did have my premium channels before I left this morning but no local and many other channels. Atleast the internet is working and we can all communicate.

Power outages to the central offices ? Am I to understand that one of the most technologically advanced companies in the world does not have generator back up to keep the services up and running ? Don't get me wrong, this is the first and only outage I have had since I have had Verizon service (several years now) but that just seem odd to me. And some more straight forward info about the outage and estimated time for repair would be nice. And I doubt any of us will get credited for this down time on our bills.

About an hour ago I got this number from the Chat Rep: {edited for privacy}. They will allegedly give a credit when service is restored. But we have to ask for it.

Does anyone else find in hilarious that the moderator has time to edit our posts by removing a Verizon provided number for a credit?!

Tnis third-world flail-ex is nothing new for Verizon and exactly why - when I move in 3 months I gurantee you Verizon will not be my provider. I am grateful to have stayed with ATT WS for my mobile and if available they'll get my business for landline and digital tv later this year.

Well, someone from Verizon is watching us because I posted a phone number that I got from the Verizon chat rep for a billing credit and the number is now "edited for privacy". Very interesting..... What are they afraid of????

12:50 p.m. here in Ashburn - FiOS tv just reactivated. Doug Hill (channel 7) says we may have additional severe storms late this afternoon/evening. . . be prepared!

FIOS provide home phone service and wireless service just restored, 12:45PM 30 June 2012, here in South Reston. Never lost TV or internet but phone service was gone since early this morning, 5AM when I noticed but probably earlier....wonderful if you really need help. How do we get a refund?

Actually all my channels are not working ditto with the house phone and our cell phones. The wifi is fine......anyone know how long?????

I don't have FIOS TV but I do have FIOS digital voice and it's dead no dial tone or anything. Also, my verizon iPhone is not working -- no bars (when I usually get at least 3 or 4). Internet is fine however. I live in Manassas, VA.

Well all, after 146 minutes on hold....I talked with a real human. This is the scoop, I have internet but no phone and no TV. It sounds as if they lost a large sub-station in Arlington which is causing all our problems. I was told that they are bringing in generators as quickly as possible BUT they have NO estimate on when it will be fixed, so for those of you like me it started (for me) around 07:15 and I still counting as I'll be asking for a refund.
ps - I live in the Sterling Ashburn area.

My mother is in North Reston and seems to have FIOS TV but no Verizon wireless and no FIOS internet. I am a Comcast customer and, while I am not a fan, I have to say that this debacle has me rethinking my dislike of Comcast. At least I have easy access to outage statuses on their website whenever I need them.
I was considering switching to Verizon FIOS, but now I think I'll stay with Comcast, ESPECIALLY because of the 911 outage! Does anyone else in Reston have any word?
