So, this morning, the new menu went live, and the color scheme is terrible. Some of the new features are nice, like getting more information on the cast of a movie would be nice (if it wasn't freezing up). But why does Verizon feel the need to completely change everything? Can't you add features, and just leave everything else the same?
Dark gray with dark red, blue and what I can best describe as sea green. Ugly ugly ugly.

I agree with all the other 'I agrees'.....Too small of print & too many colors.
Verizon should give us the choice to choose the colors (a color scheme page)
Less wild colors, Less channel displays, larger print.
(Oh and while you're at it, post the channel with ALL the information on the TOP row not the third row down)

Question: Does anyone from Verizon read any of these posts?
Thought not
Never seen a response or suggestion from them

No because these are peer to peer forums.

I agree - it is terrible. Cannot figure out where you are, fewer shows and times visible, everything is worse. Why can't they just leave it alone. it was fine.

Does anyone else have issues with the new channel guide and th eterrible color scheme that is way too hard too read? Colors are too much and make the contrast between various channels impossible to read and scan with any sort of ease

My wife and I agree that the new guide is much harder to read and the dvr recorded shows are even worse. I wish Verizon would let us choose what we like in the settings. This is another hard kick in the chest from the Verizon programmers. I wonder where they get their ideas. They always send out the emails saying it is based on feedback from customers but they never ask me???

Has anyone noticed while watching a show on the DVR and the program comes to the end, you do not get an opportunity to delete the show? Am I missing a setting to get this back?

I posted the entry about not having the opportunity to delete when a dvr show is done. This has been fixed after TWO reboots of the system. It also fixed not having on-demand available. The second time I used the auto fix of multi room dvr, even though I have only one dvr. It seems to operate as intended now.

I could not AGREE MORE!!!! The most HORRIBLE User Interface I have ever seen! I cannot even tell which channel is selected, colors are horrible, readability is horrible, business is horrible. EPIC FAIL VERIZON. I want my old one back! And while you're at it, how about removing channels that I'm not subscribed to or at least color them so I know when channel surfing it doesn't apply instead of sending me into "do you want to buy" hell.

My son and I totally agree with everyone's negative comments on the new channel guide and DVR menus. I had to walk away from the TV because the new color scheme/fonts/setup hurt my eyes so much. I felt like I was in a tunnel trying to see ahead of me and it was straining my eyes terribly.
Once again they have decreased the font size and tried to squeeze more information on a single page which is totally unnecessary. Many of us prefer to see all the detail information on a show in larger (read that as READBLE) type on half of the viewing screen instead of an abbreviated version squished in the top corner of the screen. One of the great things about Verizon's previous guide and detailed show information was that it was, indeed, detailed. If you want to included all the newer information in the detail section, at least do so in are larger area like it used to be. Most people who actually watch TV on TV nowadays are older and therefore a large font is preferable to the increasing smaller fonts.
Also, the functionality of the DVR menus is extremely cumbersome. What used to require only the 4 arrow keys and the OK button to navigate through, now requires finding additional smaller buttons all over the crowded remote control. This also now requires a second hand to get to the tiny yellow "A" button on the bottom left of the remote to save changes for a show that is set to record. It doesn't need to be so complicated Verizon people!
Please go back to the previous version of the channel guide and DVR menus so that your customers can once again enjoy the TV viewing experience. Our eyes will thank you.

The navigation is a mess. When I go to the DVR to browse through the programs I have recorded, I can't tell where I'm highighting half the time. I guess I'm supposed to figure out the light gray is what I'm selecting instead of the dark gray.
And when I used to scroll through the items on my DVR, it would tell me how much space was left on the DVR. Now I have to go back to the left to see that.
The things like the addition of the Rotten Tomato rating is nice. I really do like the little movie poster picture appearing with the information about the movie or special. But a lot of them are missing. Seeing the cast list, and being able to see the other movies the individual actors have been in is a nice addition, too. But couldn't you have accomplished this with the old color scheme?

I've seen pictures of the new scheme and I can tell I'm not a fan of it either, but just so everyone knows the new guide is almost identical to that of Comcast's.

Colors on new channel guide are terrible. Underlining of selected channel in red is difficult to detect and usually takes a second look to see where redline actually is. I don't wear glasses now but will probably have to get them after these Verizon colors give me eyestrain. If this channel guide was reviewed outside of Fios' management I believe it would have been rejected hands down. Looks like its time to go back to Comcast.

Not just the new channel guide, I cannot read the 'info', printing is much smaller than it used to be and I'm straining my eyes to see what it says. There is nothing wrong with my vision.. I have to get up off my couch to read about what I'm watching or to see what the show is about.. Did not have to get up with the old format. I don't like the new format at all, too much extra stuff on the screen, unneccessary. Whose bright idea was it to make these changes?

I totally agree. MIn adition and importantly, the list of recordings on my DVR no longer includes the date. If I have several recordings of the same series, they are indistinguishable. Whover is responsible for the clunky, poorly organised and vefry annoying system should start from scratch or revert to the old program.
One more question, why does the reponse time for the channel guide average 6 seconds? Much too long.

I must concur that the new channel guide is horrible. The left side of the channel guide now looks like graffiti. Useless and now audio that can only be shut off if you mute it via the remote. It's(the left side of screen) just makes everything more confusing. And the DVR needs a programmer to navigate. Last, lose the color scheme.
Thanks

It's even worse than just the guide (which is horrible).
They also changed the DVR software. If you're watching something on the DVR and hit STOP, go to a live show or another on the DVR, and then go back to the original one, it starts OVER. No RESUME?!? **bleep** Verizon?!? Come on end of contract!

My wife and I agree, the new guide is terrible. Who did you market test this on? Obviously not anyone. The color combinations are unreadable by anyone with less than 20/20 or better vision. The program progress bar is only 1mm wide on my 42" screen, with a red over dark grey scheme - who the hell can see that?
The DVR navigation is a step backwards as well - used to be able to delete all episodes of a given show at one time, now it's all one by one. Come on Verizon, we pay a lot of money for our services - give us something usable or you'll start losing customers to your competition. We've been FiOS customer since 2008 and were considering upgrading to FiOS Quantum, but forget that now.
The new guide sucks - give us the option to go back the old one or fix this one ASAP.
