Set up my new Fios tv one equipment last night and Im having trouble powering off the tv with the voice remote. When i push the power button, it rarely powers off the tv. The STB will shut off almost every time. But the tv will usually stay on. Sometimes I get lucky and they both turn off. The tv's are all samsung, 6 & 7 series. Anyone having this issue? I reset the remote and that didnt resolve the problem. Tried the manual pair too. Also tried holding the remote sideways. Please help!

@kennyo17 wrote:Appreciate the replies. At least I know I'm not the only one having this problem. I also did the manual pairing and Im not convinced thats a complete fix because Im still having the power off issue.
Are you re-pairing the remote to the box, or going into the menu and choosing the TV make and model of your TV for the remote to operate? Also you do have to point the remote at the TV, the Fios one box works with bluetooth,, so you don't have to point it there. Go to Menu > Settings > Voice Control > Fios TV Voice Remote > Program Voice Remote > Manual Setup > Press ‘OK’ to select. Choose your TV > Press OK.

I had this problem and called tech support numerous times over several weeks! SOLUTION is simple but never mentioned or put in install or usage guide. The voice remote actually uses 2 different signal media ---IR and Bluetooth! Therefore you need to POINT THE REMOTE AT THE TV/DVR4100 box to turn on and off. The voice commands and searches all work fine as advertised! Once figured out all is well.

I have a similar problem.
Multiple ONs or Multiple OFFs are required to turn TV on or off. Given solution (Manual Programming) appears to work the first time I try On or OFF, but after that the problem returns. I am not interested in "screen recommendations ". Especially when I want to turn the TV/ST off to walk away (go to bed), I don't want to stand around and keep pressing OFF, ad infinitum. All this is very annoying.

NONE of the many answers including those from Verizon do NOT work Not the manua install, not the selection and model number of TV ( a very late model Samsung smart TV) none of the many canned answers of the same again and again by Verizon, none work. The most basic of turning off a TV does not work and NO correct workable answer has appeared in weeks and yet there seem to be MANY, MANY who have this problem. It's utterly disgusting and frustrating.

Ok, so the heart of this issue is the Verizon remote has the wrong codes for your Samsung TV, sound right?. Does it control volume or input correctly for the TV, or is it totally not working?
Thanks.

Same exact problem. You have to go to voice control and manually input the model numbers to the tv and sound amplifier.

It is now 2023. I just got a 4100 with a voice remote. When I manually set the code in the remote it works. Go to bed/wake up. Stops working. Luckily I have a harmony, but why does this remote work for a limited time after I manually set the code.
