Removing OAN and AWE is a mistake for Verizon

Are we really back to removing what we don't agree with? As an adult in life we learn to avoid things we don't like or agree with. It's like telling the child that has an issue with sharing a toy that they should just smash it as a way to solve their issues with sharing! In my opinion it would be a huge mistake for Verizon to remove OAN. When I see that you're thinking of removing AWE (also owned by Herring networks) i have to believe it's an attack on Larry Herring and that is just wrong!

...and yet they aren't doing the same thing to CNN or MSNBC. It looks like your statement is more than a little facetious.

I believe Verizon Fios should not cancel One America News Network channel from live TV.  They provide an excellent perspective on the news.  I strongly urge them to provide them air space and time.  - loveconcertband

As a long time customer of Verizon Fios, I’m very disappointed that OAN and AWE are scheduled to be removed.

These outlets provide valuable entertainment that I will sorely miss. The cost I now pay Verizon is very high and will now likely cause me to cancel my service.

I agree, if they cancel OAN but not low performing stations like CNN, its done for political reasons (censorship).

Maybe we ought to leave Fios behind too.

I agree.

And why would Verizon want to drive away so many viewers [with the commensurate losses in revenue]? Doesn't make business sense [but, if there's some underlying reason that Verizon may have, I'd love to know what that reason is].

I dropped Comcast to subscribe to Fios for the very reason that Verizon carried OANN, Newsmax and FOX so that I could get a balanced view on social/news issues.

How difficult is it for progressives to change the channel?

It makes sense so the Verizon board can tell the small vocal mob they have agreed to their demands and censored their programming by removing OAN. Way to go Verizon. Now where is the refund due to your customers for lack of service? Of course that is never coming.

Been with them long time, now I'm looking to leave Verizon. Big mistake

If Verizon CANCELS OAN, I will be canceling my service.

Any questions?

Unfortunately Verizon doesnt care. They can tell the small mob they take their marching orders from that they have dropped OAN and censorsed their programming. Verizon has no backbone!!

Thanks Verizon for not spreading the lies of OAN but I will miss AWE.

OAN spreading lies? Watch CNN and MSNBC to see the lies and misinformation they spread. Even FOX news is biased. Don’t even think that these news channels are giving total factual information. Cable and streaming services need to stop trying to turn this country into a marxist state. FREEDOM OF CHOICE!!!

I am a news junkie. Meaning, I watch more news than is healthy for any one person to watch. I enjoy getting my news from all sources, then deciding what to think for myself. So when I saw that Verizon is thinking of making one of my regular news sources a premium channel, it’s making me rethink just how much I really need to keep paying for my junk-channel packed package. After all, I am currently paying for the Extreme package plus the non-voluntary added sports fees, plus 3 streaming services. So I decided to look through my channel line-up to see what I actually watch. I was VERY surprised with my findings.

Including SD and HD channels separately, we get just shy of 400 channels total. Of these, we watch approximately ¼ of them regularly, and 2/3 of them NEVER. So how about instead of cutting my news sources, I trade you most of my sports channels, kid’s channels, music channels, shopping channels, women’s channels, cooking channels, and Spanish-language channels, and I keep all of the news channels?

Yes, I know that for $20 less per month, Verizon can pick my channel line-up for me. But back when “Your Fios TV” was known as “a la carte” that meant picking from 7 channel packages that always excluded channels we really like, or pay more than I’m paying now to keep them. Since now they won’t even tell you which channels are included till you go to checkout, I’d wager things haven’t changed.

yea when my forces 2 year contract is up early 2023, I am going to the internet and the competition to get my programming and dropping Verizon. The cost is getting ridiculous and the services continue to be decreased and the censorship from Verizon is the final straw.
