Why does the STB reboot?
Is it a programmed (all STB) reboot or is there another reason?
The box isn't programmed to reboot on any set schedule. If there is a major software update on the box, it may be reboot or if it encounters an error condition, it may reboot itselt. But genereally, they don't reboot.
Now, if you've been noticing reboots in the last 48-72 hours, that's because Verizon has been having a system wide issue with their STB's (note all the posts in this section about channels being unavailable or showing not subscribed). They've been initiating system wide reboots of the STB's to clear this problem -- hopefully a non-regular event.
If outside of the recent past you been seeing numerous reboots or continue to see reboots, then you may have a malfunctioning box and you should have it replaced.
