Three issues with FIOS TV- can they be remedied?

1.  The "guide" default apparantly is "all channels" - I understand how to select "subscribed channels", but the selection is not durable.  When I shut down, and turn on later, the "all channels" has replaced my selection.    Why is my "subscribed channels" not the default after I select it.  This is REALLY annoying.

2.  The DVR remote control fast forward speed seems limited to 8X.  That is impossibly slow for, e.g. moving to the last quarter of a football game.  Your competition has a warp speed mode, that will get that done in seconds.  Verizon technology seems like 1970.  Is something being done about this?

3.  I watch programs at night, with the lights off.  The remote control I was issued only illuminates a few buttons.  And, typically, they are not the buttons I need to utilize.  This is just cheap -- unbeliveably so.  Is there a remote in work that will be issued soon to correct this.

Overall, I am seriously underwhelmed with the FIOS TV technology.

1.

Menu /Settings/System/Television/ Last Viewed Guide State. Set to Enable.

Then go back into the Guide hit Options button set to Subscribed and hit OK.

2.

Press the up arrow on the remote and you can go in 10 minute increments.

3.

Not much to say about the FiOS TV remote. It is nothing special, but you could always check at Best Buy. They have higher end universal remotes with more features.
