Hi, when I try to watch something from my DVR online, the website says it can't connect to my set top box. Is this because I have my own router and am not solely using the Fios router? Everything works fine in the house, guide, netflix, etc.

Thats a possibility.
Do you have a mobile device?
If so, can you view DVR content via the FIOS TV app?
Also, you must have quantum hardware (VMS) to be able to remotely view DVR content.
