Why can't I watch some live TV channels on my PC while I am at home with my PC on the wifi from Verizon. I wanted to watch ESPN but it is not available and there are many other stations that appear to be not available, even though I am in the house on my wifi

Most if not all are limited by content provider.
Some channels are available but requires Microsoft silver light which is no longer supported I believe.

Well maybe Verizon just doesn't know how to negotiate. I used to have DirectV before I moved and I could watch any station that I subscribed to. Not only could I watch it while I was hoe but I could also watch it any where in the world if I had wifi on my PC. So it is Verizon which is providing terrible service

From what I have seen, no other cable provider has TV on a laptop. Possible that only DirecTV got a deal.

That's not true at all, Xfinity let's you watch all your channels live at home and all but your locals when you're out of your house. This Verizon setup is trash.
