From the beginning Verizon said that MLB Network was going to be on channles 86 and 586 (HD). It has been a month since the network debut and we still have not seen MLB Network HD on 586. Direct TV and Cable Companies have the channel in HD, why is it not on Verizon Fios. Will we be getting the channel or what?

Here is a quote from Verizon's Eric Rabe posted on the Verizon Policy blog (my bolding):
John,
We expect to begin offering MLB Network in HD on channel 586 around the start of spring training. We already offer MLB Network in standard definition on channel 86.

It looks like the rollout of MLB HD started today.
Users in TX over on DSLReports.com are reporting seeing the channel live on 586 this morning.

Yep, MLB HD is on in North Texas! Kinda funny though, it shows as channel WLTA not MLB in the Guide and says "Program information not available" right now. But at least its here!

Golf Channel HD showed that once it went live in VHO3. It took a while to show GolfHD with program info. I don't know how long, since I checked for Golf HD, and saw that it was active, and then turned to another channel since it was early AM and I didn't need more bad swing thoughts in my head. When I tuned back in to Golf HD the program guide was up to date.

Well, I just checked again, and sure enough, it now shows MLB HD for the channel and the (often incorrect) guide data shows the same program as the SD channel does, so it didn't take very long. All is now good baseball-wise here in North Texas, except of course for our woeful Texas Rangers!

Why is Verizon FIOS blocking home Phillies games on both HD and the FIOS TV local schedule? We got the game last nite, now, another home game blacked out by Verizon. This is in spite of spending $150 for FIOS and being told by their sales team, we would not lose coverage of home games that we had on Comcast What a rip.
A Very dissatisfied FIOS customer.
