how to remove unsubscribed channels from the guide & up/down channel selector?
If they are unavilable to me I don't want to see them.
There is an option to only show subscribed channels, although it still shows some things many don't want to see.
The best choice for most is to set up a favorite list with the channels you want to see. The only problem here is you need occasionally to check for new channels that you may want to see.
