I want to return my dvr & set-top box with a tivo & cablecard. I couldn't find an option to not have a set-top box. I asked thru the chat box how to just have a cablecard, and the representative told me that this wasn't an option.
I think this must just be a mix-up. Folks who use tivo and cablecards - do you really have to rent a piece of equipment you don't need?
Thanks,
Garrett

Happy Ending - I called Verizon directly and they were able to set me exactly like I wanted - cablecard and no other devices.

Glad to hear you got this worked out. I've been using a TiVo DVR with a verizon cable card for years now. The second time the Verizon DVR crashed and rebooted during one of the superbowls (with its five minute reboot time) had me on the phone ordering a TiVo the next day. It had other problems before that, but that was the final straw. I gave the DVR to the nice tech who came out and programmed my cable cards. (Originally I had two single channel cards [all Verizon offered at the time], but now I have one dual-channel card with an upgraded TiVo unit. There's a slot for a second dual channel card, but I've never been that much of a TV slave to need it. 🙂
I will mention that the person that installed my original cable cards bricked the first two he tried to provision. Got the second two working though.
