2nd FIOS 1 STB with Google Home WiFi?

My 2nd FIOS 1 STB will only work wirelessly if it is connected to the FIOS G3100 router.  My STB is far enough away from the FIOS router such that its connection is poor at best.

Our house is large and it's not possible to move our Verizon FIOS router closer to the STB.  We use Google Home WiFi with 2 extenders to provide internet coverage to the entire house.  If I connect the 2nd FIOS 1 STB to the Google Home network it won't work as a DVR, etc.   I've read a lot of posts, and it seems to be possible (bridge mode), but I haven't seen a definitive answer or detailed enough instructions to set this up on my own.

The minis work best wired either with coax or ethernet. They need to see a hidden SSID provided by the Fios router. I'm not sure if there is a way to duplicate and fool the mini into seeing another SSID as the source. I seem to remember someone saying you could rename the Fios SSID and get the mini to connect to the new network. You have to get into the service menu of the VMS box and use the user menu to rename the hidden SSID.
