For the second night in a row all NHL Center Ice games are blacked out for me. I live in MD. I called in and told the rep the games were blacked out. She then came back and told me the list of blacked out games. What she read to me was the entire NHL schedule. I said "you realize that is the entire NHL schedule correct?". She then said, all I can tell you is that all these games are blacked out in your area. I then asked "why is it all my friends that have DirectTV are getting the games?". She then said, the games are all blacked out.
I just want to know this. I bought the Center Ice package in Sept. AND we are in the middle of a free preview on FiOS. I get no games? Not only are they not blacked out in my area (or DirecTV and Dish would black them out too) but some of these games are sell outs which means they are not even blacked out in the local market.
What is the point of Center Ice if I get nothing but local games? Fix this or I am back on DirecTV in a heartbeat.

your complaint is with the NHL. Verizon does not black out games. All they can do is when a customer calls saying that they are not getting a game, they go to the NHL blackout list and read that to the customer.
comparing Verizon to DTV or Dish is not a good comparison. Verizon is a terrestial broadcaster and Dish and DTV are satelite. Satelite has different rules when it comes to blackout conditions. not always fair but there is nothing that Verizon can do about it. If it is blacked out, it is blacked out.

If you are in Maryland, then your only blackout should be any Washington Capitals game, which can be seen on CSN. I was watching the games last night, and they were all on (except for that MSG game I had mentioned in a couple other threads). Verizon's customer service is terrible, and they are actually less help than Comcast's reps were, if that's possible.

I have been on the phone and live chat with Verizon for 3 hours tonight trying to fix this, and nothing. I am in Maryland as well, Prince George's County. My friend lives in Anne Arundel County and has been able to see everything with no problem. Is this a county by county thing? I am able to see the games on the HD channel (1474 for me) but nothing else since this past Saturday or so. Has anyone been able to get this sorted out, or been able to get a refund?

I'm able to see all the games down in Richmond. BTW, the only blackout for us tonight was NHL Network, which was the SJS-WSH game available on Comcast Sportsnet.

Are they just picking and choosing by county which games they decide to black out? Like all of them??

You should only be blacked out for your local team. The Verizon rep that told you every game was blacked out had no clue what they were talking about, as usual when you contact Verizon by phone. Really embarassing how poor the phone support is for this product.

Well said. For such a great product, it's just embarrassing how bad the customer service is. From my experience, I can say that Comcast isn't much better, but anyone you speak to at Verizon seems to know absolutely nothing about multichannel programming. They also seem to have no way of escalating service issues to anyone who can do something about it.
