I can't figure out how but I have a hard time believing that Verizon would be so short sighted as to leave that feature out. It's incredibly annoying having to sift through things that are in date order...Especially when you start accumulating a lot of recorded programs.

Sorry, but at present there are no sort options for recorded shows.
<rant on> Beside, it's hard to accumulate a lot of recordings with the puny hard drives in the Verizon DVRs - at least if you are recording in HD <rant off>

It's shocking that they would leave that feature off. How difficult could it be to include a feature like that? You can do it on the media manager online so why not within the cable box.

Hi,
While alphabetizing isn't MY primary concern regarding recorded DVR content (though I respect that it is for some others), I WOULD want to have the programs appear in ascending chronological order (e.g., earliest at the top of the list) instead of their current default of descending chronological order (e.g., latest at the top of the list).
I'd also want to have "folders" of shows with multiple episodes having been recorded appear based on the date of the first show recorded, not the last one.
However, I haven't yet found a way to invert the current sort order in this way, and it's pretty frustrating to always have to scroll d-o-w-n the list to find the earliest-recorded program to watch, and then delete, before moving on to the next one.
Can someone (perhaps including a FiOS technical support person? a Moderator?) please chime in about this? If, indeed, there's no way to do this, can it please become part of an firmware upgrade in the very near future?
Please advise, and thank you very much.
Sincerely,
Bram Weiser

Verizon will probably probably add sort options eventually, but it's not coming soon. There are no major updates to the IMG planned in the next few months.
Virtually all cable and satellite DVRs display the chronological sort as Verizon does, with the newest recordings at the top and the oldest at the bottom. A number of other DVRs do allow you to sort folders and shows alphabetically, although within those folders, the recordings are always shown with the newest at the top.

Thanks, KenAF.
I appreciate your insight but feel like the way the IMG works now could be done better (like trying to watch content in the order it was recorded, but having to "wear out" the remote's controls that much quicker in the process).
I hope "they" change their collective minds soon and implement a way for us to sort the content in user-friendly ways.
Thanks again,
Bram
