Bein Sports dropped?????

I get an email TODAY informing me that as of TODAY Bein Sports is no longer available. This is the ONLY channel that carries the European soccer leagues. I want Bein Sports back and if not by the time the European season starts I will drop Verizon IMMEDIATELY and sign up with another provider. Dish, Direct TV and Comcast all carry it. I lose nothing but Verizon loses a customer and I can bet that I am not the only one.

Verizon local contract (cable franchise agreement) is managed by the city or county that we live in. so, here what we need to do:

1) call your city or county cable franchise coordinator and relay your concerns regarding this issue.

2) call your local city or county elected official (e.g. supervisor) and relay your concerns regarding this issue and ask for a respone. that might result in Verizon's local manager appearing before the city or county board to respond to citizens legitimate questions.

the only reason I selected Preferred TV plan 5 months ago was Bein sports channel. otherwise, I'd have just signed for a 2 years internet only contract. I learned my lesson. we can and shall not let Verizon and/or other providers to treat us like this.

This is unacceptable. I have heard that BeIn Sports was offered a new deal that they found not in line with what was even close to their last contract.

Verizon is skimping here. I signed up for Verizon because Be In Sports was part

of the package. Its much less attractive to me now. The internet speed is just a fake selling feature, its not really any faster for me than Cable!

Verizon if you are listening, take note, people want Be In, they will leave as soon as they can if you don't add it back!

If BeIN Sports doesn't come back in a week I'm OUT, my parents are OUT, my brother-in-law is OUT and my uncles are OUT. We link up every weekend to watch either La Liga on BeIN. Our weekly family gatherings often revolve around it. This is the ultimate deal breaker. One week. Or we're OUT!!!

Absolutely agree!

This is pathetic! Verizon is having negotiation problems with BEIN and instead of solving it, they make their customers suffer.

Just another example of a big company that has lost site of the meaning of the word “service” and forgotten the simple truth that the customer always comes first.

I’ve put up with their crappy service, convoluted plans, and constant price increases for over a decade, but this may be the final straw that pushes me to another provider.

I mean, come on! BEIN is playing the top sports in the world - not carrying them is just not an option....unless you’re Verizon, I guess.

My mental picture of the Verizon board of directors is a bunch of grumpy old men sitting around grumbling that people should be watching baseball not soccer anyway.

Was just reading an article about bein lawsuit against Comcast with FCC.

FCC turned them down. One of the reasons is Comcast stated they are concerned about bein's content. They have let an Italian soccer league contract go. And a number of US networks have started to sign contracts. Plus bein has very little US content.

So while I understand soccer fans are very passionate about their sport, its a business. And my perception is that the number of viewers is small compared to other sports channels. The fact that Verizon, along with other cable companies, have to pay a content provider for every subscriber that has access to a channel whether they watch or not, can make viewer ship a large part if channel placement.

I ask if anyone posting here has also mposted on bein social media to force them to settle as well. My guess is they have less incentive as I believe they also have a streaming service.

If Verizon doesn't get BeIn Sports back and soon, I'm switching to Cox as well. It's roughly half the reason I've put up with the absurdly high monthly charges for as long as I have, and without it, there's little reason to continue. Given what I and many others pony up each year, surely they can afford to pay BeIn Sports what they're worth.

I've stuck with Verizon for over a decade for one reason:  beIN Sports.  They have the exclusive broadcasting deal for ALL of the motorcycle roadracing series that I watch:  MotoGP, World Superbike and MotoAmerica.  I went downstairs this morning to watch the Czech GP only to discover it wasn't recorded and the channel no longer showed up in the guide.  I had to do a quick Google search to find out what happened because Verizon NEVER informed me they were dropping the channel.  Just discovered that Optimum/Altice is carrying beIN Sports in my area, and they charge almost $100 LESS per month than I'm paying now.  I don't need gigabit internet speeds, 200mb is just fine.  Guess who I'm calling this week unless Verizon changes their mind pretty damned fast!!

I found out in advance, and have done everything possible to try to get the Czech GP on Roku -- no dice, since -- even after subscribing -- they send you back to Verizon. They're trying to hit us for a $350 early termination fee (sadly, we renewed two weeks ago). If Verizon won't get BeIn back on the air and they make us pay it, I will never, ever come back.

I Also started looking at alternatives. Looks like DirecTV now and FuboTV are alternative to watch FS1, FS2 and Bein sports.

So i was online looking to reduce my plan now that I have to pay for Fubo and noticed BeIn is still listed as a provided channel in their packages. Can you not get out of contract for them advertising something they are not actually providing?

i only have 2 months of contract left regardless so it’s no big deal for me but I am definaltley not renewing.

You are definitely not the only one! I totally agree about the sudden, arbitrary dropping of beIN Sports. It appears that Verizon is willing to sacrifice its loyal soccer customers for what is clearly an extremely minor "hit" to their profits. I, for one, will drop my Fios service by September (start of Serie A, La Liga & Ligue 1 soccer seasons) if they continue to treat us as "unimportant" to their business.

Very unhappy that Verizon is now charging seperately for Cinemax and now taking Bein away. It was bad enough when we lost the Weather Channel for the awful Verizon Weather.

Fair warning and for whatever is worth to Verizon.  I WILL cancel my account if this channel is not restored. This is not meant to be a threat or anything. But the main network I watch is BeIN Sports. I will have to look for BeIN Sports elsewhere if Verizon does not provide it.   I hope this is a temporary issue.

Please reinstate BeIN Sports. This is the best channel for watching the best teams in the best leagues in the most popular sport in the world. I would not have entered into my latest FiOS contract without BeIN. FiOS gives me at least 50 channels that nobody ever  watches. You can cancel all of those if I can get BeIN! It’s getting very tough to justify paging for the Verizon cable model - if you take away BeIN, you are begging me to unplug. La Liga and Ligue 1 start soon. Please act quickly.
