Just noticed tonight that if you "pause" a FIOS VOD movie too long (i.e. to get a snack), the movie "times-out" and stops.
That was not a big surprise, HOWEVER, the resume does not pick up from where you left off !
You have to RESTART the movie from the BEGINNING. To add insult, the fastest forward speed is only 2X !!!
So if you are 3/4 of the way through a movie and have to take a break - you had better do it quickly, or else you'll have to sit through the movie you just watched - at 2x which is agonizingly slow !
It is unbelieveable that Verizon would not have an 8x fast forward or that the resume cannot remember your last frame and pick up the movice from the correct position.
Maybe if we all stopped renting movies they'd fix the problem
I guess it's back to Netflix DVDs for my family.

I just had this problem tonight. Tried to restart from where I was after I got kicked out of a TV show and had to restart at the beginning. And for this show, FF was unavailable!!!!!!
Was this ever fixed?

FiOS VOD is about useless.
Go get a Roku (www.roku.com) streaming media device and then you will have Netflix, Amazon, HuluPlus, Vudu, and many other channels to stream from that all work much better than VOD.

TOTALLY AGREE! I've had this issue twice --the only 2 times I've used their VOD -- with FIOS movies (one watching on computer, and one on TV), and I'm CURED of ever renting another VOD movie from Verizon. Don't they use their own stuff?! Is there noone in Verizon admin that has gotten ticked off at this yet? Ridiculous.

We're going back to Redbox for rentals and it looks like I'll have to subscribe to another pay service through the Roku too. What a waste.

Agreed. The pause timer is only like 5 minutes. If that. If you stop it and try to resume it later or from a different TV it starts from the begining. That is really frustrating.
