Cable box & wire removal for house

• I have an old Verizon Box and Cable Box stuck on my house that I purchased. . I need my house worked on, but my contractor said the cable and box belong to Verizon.  They cannot remove it, so they said to contact Verizon to remove.  I need a Verizon technician to come out and remove it. My contractor said if they do not want to remove it, that I should contact the public utilities commission.
