Cannot resume ON DEMAND - please help!

So I recently came back to Fios after switching over for a couple years to another carrier.  Up until about last week is was working fine but now it's nothing but issues.  The volume is always showing on the TV and I have to manually fix it, the Fios remote doesn't control the volume, and now my tv shows don't resume from where I left off in an episode. It always starts over and this is super frustrating.  Does anyone have a fix?  I called Verizon and I'm sure you know they don't know anything. 

If anyone here has a solution it would be greatly appreciated!  I'm already thinking of switching back over.

What model STB and remote do you have?

Do you have STB volume set to fixed?

On Demand resumption has long been an issue with FIOS.
