Complimentary HBO taken away after 2 days because I renewed my contract

Three days ago, I received an unprompted email that I would receive HBO for FREE as a valued Verizon Fios customer until 12/31/2015.  Since my 2 year agreement was due to end soon, I renewed my 2 year agreement online yesterday.  But now when I tune to the channel or try to use HBOGO, I get a message that I am not subscribed to the channel.  I reach out to Verizon through Chat which was pointless, so I called Customer Service.  After talking with two representatives in different departments for over 45 minutes (mostly on hold), I was offered a discount on HBO.  That isn't what I was calling for and it's not what I wanted.  The worst part is, when I was renewing my contract online yesterday, the HBO promo was in my cart at checkout!!

This is very sketchy business from Verizon.  I had HBO for less than 48 hours which is like a terrible practical joke.  I don't know how I could penalized for renewing my contract. Isn't that what they want from us?  I guess I will be a valued customer again in 23 months when my contract is almost up.

Your issue has been escalated to a Verizon agent. Before the agent can begin assisting you, they will need to collect further information from you. Please go to your profile page for the forum and look at the top of the middle column where you will find an area titled "My Support Cases". You can reach your profile page by clicking on your name beside your post, or at the top left of this page underneath the title of the board.

Under "My Support Cases" you will find a link to the private board where you and the agent may exchange information. The title of your post is the link. This should be checked on a frequent basis, as the agent may be waiting for information from you before they can proceed with any actions. To ensure you know when they have responded to you, at the top of your support case there is a drop down menu for support case options. Open that and choose "subscribe". Please keep all correspondence regarding your issue in the private support portal.
