When I had FIOS installed 3 years ago, they used a cable which was a single cable with 5 connectors on each end...Green, Blue, Red and 2 whites with a colored stripe on each.
Can someone tell me what this is called? My color went on one of my sets and I was told by tech support it was the component cable and they sent me new ones, but not the same. They sent 3 10' wires. I called again, they said they found what I needed and would send them. Again, I got 3 10 foot wires.
Someone PLEASE Help! I don't need 30 feet of wire on my set!

5 color coded cable are component. Did you loose all color? Chech the menu for the TV. If it doesnt have color, the problem is the TV.

Component cables. Are they sending you 30 foot component cables or a whole different cable like rca?
If the color went on the set I'm beating its not the box/cables, but is the tv. Its rare that color would go because of the cables unless they were physically damaged.

The color was blue and pink tinted.
It's not the TV, ROKU programming and DVDs worked fine.
It was definitely the component cable.
Attched HDMI instead and it's back to normal.
However...why is it that NO ONE that I spoke to at Verizon knows
what this 5 connector cable is, and they are sending me 3 separate cables
twice now?
Forgot to mention that the first tech I spoke to sent me a new DVR thinking
THAT was the problem.

I'm curious.....if you could always use an hdmi cable why were you using the other cables? Lack of tv inputs?

I've had techs that came out that swapped out all my HDMI to component. Some think it's more reliable and picture/sound is the same. If he got some of those could be a valid reason.

Picture is not the same with component cables. HDMI is the only way to get true HD picture. Digital vs. analog.

I've read pros and cons here about the HDMI. I discussed it with the tech over the phone and he said to give it a try, so I did...but I still wanted the replacement component cable in case I had problems.
And still...no one has been able to tell me what this particulat component cable is called? If FIOS installers have them onm their trucks, shouldn't Verizon CS know what they are called?

It sounds like they did send the correct cables, but they didnt give you the 2 composite cables for audio with it.
I've honestly never heard of pink color coded cables unless they are using their own color coding. Usually its red blue green for component for video and 2 composite for audio. The 2 white ones on the original cable were composite cables for audio which is what you didnt get with the cabels they sent you. Some have all 5 cables in 1 while others are seperate.
Any chance you can take a pic of the cables you received and upload it on here? Would be the easiest way to tell what the sent exactly.

Even though it works with TV, it could still be the TV.
Do you have another STB/TV?
Try swapping the STBs (I assume that is easier than TVs).
See which way the problem goes. If it follows STB, that is the issue. Same for TV.
Try swapping component cables as well to verify if it is the cables.
I had an older Samsung that one of the inputs went bad while others worked fine.
