I received the DVR upgrade email yesterday and have been trying to use the link provided to request the 500GB DVR.
I can logon and the site says you are eligible for the upgrade but I am never provided with the check boxes to select which stbs to upgrade.
I called support but they have no idea that this email was sent out and just keep repeating that it is not available.
Can anyone provide some assistance.
Thanks.

yeah, that is possible, a lot of those folks ordered just fine, and a handful couldn't for some reason. you should probably call verizon and ask for the ecenter, or open a chat support, they can escelate the issue to their develepor team if they can replicate the issue on their PC's. you would probably give them your username and password and let them try it from their pc over there.

I have had the same problems in trying to upgrade to the supposedly new super duper DVR (I wonder if it even stands up to the hype after all of this). After numerous phone calls (at least 15), several chat sessions, as well as calls to the local store, nobody was able to help me. Nobody at Verizon actually knows what they are doing, they just keep referring you to different departments. And they all claim I am the first customer with this problem. The last thing I was told is that somebody would call me back within 48 hours to let me know what progress they have made on their website problem (they actually finally admitted that they HAD a website problem) - I was told it would be fixed by tonight (I'm not holding my breath!). I did however make one bit of progress and that uas when I threatened to leave Verizon to go back to Dish Network. I was then redirected to their retention department (877-651-4271), whose representative couldn't help me of course, but eventually gave me the monthly cost of a DVR for free for 12 months. So with the total credit of approximately $191.88 + whatever taxes for the year, I can now be a whole lot more patient. If you are as frustrated with their incompetence as I am, then try this and I guarantee it will make you feel better about the whole thing.

Problem resolved and here's how for anyone who may be reading this. (I swtiched to Internet Explorer instead of Firefox, but I do not believe that was the problem). After downloading verizon activate, you should have three button on the left-side of the screen under your name (Billing, DVR and Upgrade). Press DVR You have to activate the remote access to your DVR first. Once you have done this, you will have a button (in red) at the bottom of the screen giving you two options to upgrade your DVR (the expansion box or the new set-top box). There is a $39.95 fee for the new box which is mailed to you via UPS.

Can we get one of the Verizon admins to elevate this issue? We shouldn't have to jump through hoops just to sign up for an upgrade. Especially an upgrade we're paying for.

I found you had to open your browser, logon, and indicate stay logged in first. Then click the link in the email.

I have chatted online with VZ and their solution is simply go back online to the DVR Upgrade Expansion page and sign up again and wait for them to send you another email. Apparently, they are aware of the email link not working. So guess what I tried again and signed up again for the DVR Expansion and got another link 2 days later and BAM....Nothing the same thing it just sits there on the pages gathering my records.....SIGH.....

I'm not sure why this problem is showing up as being solved. The linked solution doesn't work for me, and it's clear it doesn't work for many others either.

Possible Solution:
I had this same issue for quite a while. I first I tried different computers. Then through this forum i realized to try a different browser.
First shot at IE and it was brought to a new screen where I could log in. However after logging in with my MyVerizon username and pw, I got the same "we're sorry" message
Then, I tried two things, and one or both of them made it work.
I used IE's InPrivate feature, and also I did NOT log in with my username and password. Instead, I used my account number and zip code. (you can also use your verizon home phone number+last bill amount)
For whatever reason, it was this that worked.
Hopefully this helps some folks!

THIS WORKED!!!!!!
Not sure if the InPrivate mattered, other than it makes sure that no cookies or remnants of prior logins would affect it.
I used my Account Number + Zip and BANG.
PRAISE THE LORD.
Note - Verizon is such a mess. I can't believe I also wanted hours on hold trying to call about this problem (just as others had mentioned) just to hear people say they had no idea what I'm talking about.
Get a clue Verizon.

I have had FiOs for several years now and have 3 HD DVRs...all the old ones. How are you getting emails for a DVR upgrade? I haven't received one yet and cannot find a place on the website to go and request one. I got a link in another topic that takes me to the page, It says COngrats! You are eligible...then it takes me to a page to sign in and it never takes me anywhere at all. I either get "try later" or it just says "Getting your info" yet it never does. How can I sign up to get the email for my 3 DVR upgrades?
