We just got two new DVR boxes from Fios.
They are “all home” DVR’s. In other words, what I scheduled to record, shows up in my sons room, and what he schedules to record, shows up on mine. How do we separate them?
Thank you in advance for your help.

@dexman wrote:I don't subscribe to the DVR service, so I'm not an expert in this area (Clem is 🙂). Based on literature I've seen, anything recorded on the DVR is available on all STBs. I don't think there is a way to "partition" the VMS/main unit to restrict recordings to this STB or that STB.
But Clem will have a more experienced reply than mine. 🙂
Thanks for the vote of confidence, but you are correct, there is no way to separate the boxes that I know of either. Maybe using parental controls on the secondary box might do what you need, but there is no direct way to stop access to the main DVR from the secondary box.
